What do you call a New York Fire Department EMS Lieutenant with a social media account displayed by a profile picture of Adolf Hitler? You call him thirty-four-year-old, Caucasian Tim Dluhos—a racist who refers to himself as “Bad Lieutenant” on twitter, and who injudiciously tweeted “I’m going to give up racial insults for Lent,” before countering with the tweet, “Jesus that didn’t [last] too long. F***en chinks can’t drive.”
According to a report conducted by the New York Post, the Fire Department where Dluhos is employed has a history of using social media to exhibit their racist conducts. It is said that the FDNY is “packed with white men that federal courts have ordered it to change its hiring practices and become more diverse.”
Dluhos’s responsibility as an EMS Lieutenant is to provide life support to those in emergent situations. However, it is unfathomable to trust a man with such vitality who tweets things such as, “Getting sick of all these obama lovers and taking them to the hospital because their medicare pays for an ambulance and not a cab.”
I’m unsure how Dluhos was able to get away with his racist rants for so long. How did anyone miss the fact that “He called Mayor Michael Bloomberg “King Heeb” in some tweets and made references to “coloreds” in others.” Not to mention the fact that he “tweeted his ‘most prized artifact’ is a gold Nazi-era pin featuring a German U-boat, and also put up a photo gallery of obese naked women.”
If you don’t find those tweets completely atrocious and disrespectful, maybe you’ll see the absurdity in the tweet that he made in reference to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday:
“MLK could go kick rocks for all I care, but thanks for the time and a half today.”
The way that I see it, this guy was paid very well, $93,561 in 2011, with the tax dollars of many of those same “coloreds, Jews, chinks, etc.,” that he so “expressively” referred to them as.
However, after being confronted by reporter of the New York Times about his racist tweets, Dluhos broke down like a baby, whimpering, sobbing, and whining, “My life is ruined. Oh, my God, I’m so sorry.” But as one follower on twitter tweeted, “Timothy Dluhos, you’re not sorry for all the racist slurs you said. You’re only sorry you got caught, therefore you deserve this humiliation.”
In the end, Dluhos resigned from the fire department, his twitter account, and most unfortunately, his dignity.
